How to Make an Iced Matcha Latte at Home
Share
An iced matcha latte is one of the easiest, most refreshing ways to enjoy matcha at home, especially in Pakistan's warmer months. Here is how to make a good one.
What you need
- 1 to 2 teaspoons ceremonial grade matcha
- A little hot (not boiling) water, around 70 to 80 degrees
- A bamboo whisk (chasen) or a small frother
- Milk of choice (dairy, oat, almond)
- Ice, and sweetener if you like
Step by step
- Sift the matcha into a bowl or cup to avoid clumps.
- Whisk with a small amount of hot water until smooth and frothy.
- Fill a glass with ice and your milk.
- Pour the matcha over the top and stir. Add a little honey or syrup if you like it sweeter.
Tips
Always dissolve the matcha in a little hot water first; adding powder straight to cold milk leaves lumps. Use good, vivid matcha for the smoothest, sweetest flavour, and adjust the milk-to-matcha ratio to taste.
